As we understand it, we were Cos's very first clients when he started his practice in Gympie. We had bought a Pharmacy and just moved our young family to the area. Since then, we have grown to value and trust Cos implicitly, and he has been involved in every financial decision we have made since that time.
We guided us to build our business and in doing so, pay off our debts and educate our children to a level that was extremely important to us. At that time, interest rates were running at 18% and while many people we knew were going out of business and losing their homes, we were able to make money off those high interest rates through Cos's careful guidance. In fact without Cos's advice, we would not have been able to give our sons a University education.
Over the years, Cos has helped us with a range of decisions involving our business and in purchasing property. Early on we became involved in the first property syndicates he had created. Essentially, this enabled us to retire and continue to live completely independently. Remaining independent has always been enormously important to us.
Having Cos looking after us got us through the GFC when it hit in 2008. We know of people who literally lost everything. But the investments Cos has made on our behalf have sustained us and given us peace of mind that we can continue to not only remain financially independent, but have our investments grow. Dominique has also become involved in our financial affairs, and has been able to bring very strong returns on our investments, where other investment firms have lost us money.
Naturally, we have recommended Cos to both of our sons who have gone on to experience the same degree of care and service that we have. Because of Cos, we have prospered through even the worst economic times. We will not live long enough to thank Cos for everything he has done for our family.

While Schuh Group have been our family accountants since 1991, Cos's role in the success of our business and in our family financial planning has been so much more than just an accountant.
Cos completed a due diligence on a business we wanted to purchase back in 1996. We were complete novices in the world of business and at every stage, he advised us about our best options to proceed.
As our business grew, we constantly sought Cos's advice about how to best plan for growth (and of course, the dreaded tax bills that come with business growth!).
When we were approached by an international (and reasonably aggressive) company to buy our business, Cos negotiated on our behalf, and secured us a price that was ten times more than what we had paid for it.
Frankly, having such an experienced businessman and negotiator on our side halved our stress. We would otherwise have been chewed up and spat out by the company management. And we certainly would not have had the confidence to negotiate the sale price and conditions.
Right now, Dominique is showing us how to set up life insurance which ensures our children will be taken care of should the worst happen, and she is saving us money. The peace of mind this has given us is priceless.
